Key Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all assigned areas of the Emergency Psychiatric Services department
Develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care for patients ages 5 and up presenting with psychiatric illnesses
Evaluate patient outcomes and identify available community and facility resources to support patient needs
Deliver care to patients with a range of psychiatric diagnoses including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and those seeking detoxification
Collaborate as an essential member of the interdisciplinary patient care team to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care
Maintain flexibility to support coverage across a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week care environment

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2-year Associate's degree in Nursing required
Valid State of Maine RN license required
BLS Certification required
Current CPI training required prior to start
At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing required
Active, clear licensure with no licensure hits

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience working with pediatric and adult psychiatric populations in an acute or crisis setting
Familiarity with care for patients requiring detoxification services
Strong ability to manage stress and make sound clinical decisions under pressure
