The Special Education Bus Assistant assists bus drivers in providing safe and efficient transportation for special education students to and from school. The Bus Assistant rides in the student area of the bus, supports students during loading, transit, and unloading, and helps ensure that each student is properly secured and released to an authorized individual.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: No prior experience required
Licenses and Certifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively with others on a team
Ability to assess a situation quickly and respond calmly, efficiently, and patiently under stressful conditions
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and a calm, respectful manner when interacting with students, parents, and school personnel
Ability to apply safety principles to protect the health and safety of self, students, parents, and school personnel
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
