EMT Or ParamedicNaphCare is seeking an EMT or Paramedic to join our team of medical professionals at the Forsyth County Detention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.We are currently hiring for part-time weekend opportunities on both day and night shifts, making this a great option for EMTs or Paramedics looking to supplement their current schedule, gain additional clinical experience, or build experience in correctional healthcare.As a Correctional EMT/Paramedic, you will work alongside nurses, medical providers, correctional officers, and other healthcare professionals to provide care to a diverse patient population. You'll assist with patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, intake screenings, emergency response, and other clinical needs while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a unique healthcare environment.Available Part-Time Shifts:Weekend Days Weekend NightsNew graduates are encouraged to apply — we'll provide training in correctional healthcare!ResponsibilitiesThe EMT/Paramedic will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Responding to emergencies, administering medications, and coordinating with other staff to ensure inmate health and safety.Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication historyTaking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight, draw bloodDocumenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditionsAssisting with the maintenance of medical equipment and supplies within the facilityComplete intake screeningAdminister and read PPDEnsuring the safety and security of inmates and staff during medical procedures and transportObserving and reporting changes in patients' physical or mental health to nursesQualificationsNew grads are encouraged to apply!Requirements/Qualifications:Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a higher-level Paramedic programAbility to obtain the necessary state licenses for EMT or ParamedicHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred)Ability to pass a criminal background checkAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsNew graduates are encouraged to apply!Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.Why Join NaphCare?
